HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Barbara Jean Melton, 88, of Huntingdon died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Tracy McDaniel officiating. Interment followed in New Crossroads Cemetery.
Mrs. Melton was born August 31, 1934, in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late William Doye and Euphia Gladys (Crews) Cooper. She was a life-long farmer and a member of New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, of 67 years, Elvis B. Melton, two brothers, Weldon Cooper and Howard Cooper
She is survived her cousins, John Innis, Jim Innis, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a nephew, Randy Cooper of Camden, three nieces, Kathy Howell (Chris) of Bruceton, Susan Montgomery (Ricky) of Lexington, Karen Townsend (Dennis) of Huntingdon. She also leaves her loving Amish Community Family, especially the family of Nathaneal Borntrager.
