Carroll County Humane Society Great Catsby Gala
The Carroll County Humane Society is hosting The Great Catsby Gala on Saturday, December 3, at the Liberty Church Event Venue, 5585 Hilliard Road, McKenzie. The gala is 5-9 p.m. and features dinner, a silent auction and more. Tickets are on sale now for $30. Roaring 20s attire can be worn, but is not mandatory. Sponsorships and auction item donations are still needed. Drop by the shelter, 21822 Highway 22, McKenzie, during business hours Tuesday through Saturday 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. to purchase your event tickets or to make donations. Agape Closet Christmas Giveaway
The Agape Closet Christmas Giveaway is open through December 2. Donate new personal hygiene items for a chance to earn gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, a free photography session, a free cake from a local bakery and other great items. Needed items include new containers of shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, socks and underwear and will be accepted at 161 Hospital Drive, McKenzie. Drawing will be held on December 2. McKenzie Homerun Club Sponsors Lunch December 4
The McKenzie Homerun Club is sponsoring a grilled tenderloin lunch on Friday, December 4, with pick up 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Block City Pizza. Tickets are $12. Let the baseball team feed you before the Bethel Renaissance Christmas Concert. See any MHS baseball player for tickets.
 
National Wreaths Across America Day
Join Wreaths Across America on Thursday, December 17, for a wreath-laying ceremony at 12 p.m. to remember and honor the veterans laid to rest at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parker’s Crossroads. The cemetery is located at 593 Wildersville Road, Wildersville.
 
Henry County Sheriff’s Office Accepting Deer Donations
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office are accepting deer for the ‘Deputies for the Hungry’ program through December 30, 2022. Deer may be dropped off daily at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, 210 Forrest Heights Road, Paris, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Hunters must have the deer checked in prior to arrival and have the confirmation number ready for deer shed personnel. All deer must be field dressed prior to drop off. Due to limited storage capacity and Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing procedures, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office may have to suspend the program and will notify the public should that occur. For each deer donated, hunters receive a ticket for a drawing to win a Precision Shooting Equipment (PSE) crossbow. The drawing will be held at Hulmes Sporting Goods, 3735 US-641, Paris, at a date to be announced. The offices are closed on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 
 
Carroll County Toys For Tots
Donate an unwrapped toy or monetary donation to the Carroll County Toys for Tots campaign. Toy donations will be collected at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center. Monetary donations may be dropped off or mailed to Jamie Summers at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 200 Norandal Drive, Huntingdon, or visit toysfortots.org. Please make checks payable to Carroll County Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots applications for children ages 0-12 years old can be picked up at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center at 210 Norandal Dr., Huntingdon. Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
On the third Tuesdays of each month, The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street, Huntingdon. Meals are served restaurant style with drive-through available after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited.
It is our mission to create a community atmosphere where individuals can come in and have a meal and a comfortable setting. We encourage friendly conversation, prayers and laughter. Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.
 
Adult Education Classes
Huntingdon Location - Adult Education Building, 14155 Paris Street. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Classes are offered for one-on-one instruction on Mondays, 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, phone 731-364-5481.
 
Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
Prayer on the Square
The Prayer on the Square is held the second Saturday each month, 9 a.m. at The Network on the Court Square in Huntingdon. All denominations are welcome.
