County Budget Committee to Meet
Carroll County Budget Committee meeting meets the third Thursday of every month starting at 10 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex.

McKenzie Farmers Market
McKenzie Farmers Market is on Saturdays at 8 a.m., 2431 Cedar Street, in downtown McKenzie. The former Studebaker dealership was converted to an indoor/outdoor farmers market and allows area citizens to sell their homemade and homegrown foods and other products.
It is open every Saturday morning through October. Also visit on Tuesday afternoons, 2-6 p.m. Watch for special children’s activities sponsored by the Carroll County 4-H and Agriculture Extension Service.
Admission is free. The facility is sponsored by the City of McKenzie. For vendor information, phone City Hall at 731-352-2292.

First CP Vacation Bible School
On Wednesday, July 6 through Friday, July 8, McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church is having Vacation Bible School, “Monumental - Celebrating God’s Greatness” - for children ages 3 to those who have just finished 5th grade. Hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Supper will be provided. Come celebrate Christian fellowship, fun and the joy of God’s Word!

Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.

Carroll County Election Commission Meeting

The Carroll County Election Commission meets Thursday, July 7, 2022, 6 p.m. in the Election Office, 625 High St., Ste. 113, Huntingdon, 38344, for the purpose of continuing preparation for the August 4 and November 8, 2022 elections and to discuss the bill recently signed by Governor Lee for the county to purchase a voting system with voter-verified paper audit trail, at no cost to the county.

Carroll County Democratic Party Fundraiser
The Carroll County Democratic Party cordially invites you to a fundraiser/gathering of candidates July 9, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m., sponsored by the Carroll County Democratic Party. The event is at the Carroll County Center Exhibit building located off Mustang Drive behind the Civic Center. Food and drinks will be served.

McKenzie Senior Center Cakewalk, Dinner
The McKenzie Senior Center Cakewalk and Dinner is Friday, July 8. The kitchen opens at 6 p.m., and dinner is $4. Attendees have their choice of a hot dog or pulled pork sandwich served with cole slaw, baked beans and soda. The cakewalk is at 7 p.m. Buy a $5 wristband and participate in all of the walks. Only 40 walkers can be accommodated, so purchase your wristbands early. They will be available at the center starting July 5. Cake auction to end the evening!

Dr. Tony Janner Memorial Golf Tournament
The Tony Janner Memorial Golf Tournament is Saturday, July 16 at 8 a.m. at the Carroll Lake Golf Course. For more information, contact Kevin Wood, (865) 228-0710.

Back to School Jump Start
The public is invited to a school supply give-away at Mulberry Park Sunday, July 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. The first 250 children present (with parents) will receive a draw bag of basic school supplies for kindergarten through eighth grade. A drawing for a complete backpack full of supplies for each grade is at 6:45 p.m. Winners must be present to receive the door prizes. Jumpers, snow cones, hot dogs and water will be provided free of charge. This event is sponsored by the First Baptist Church of McKenzie. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the church gym.

The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.
