NASHVILLE (June 24) — Emma Luther, a student at Clarksburg School, placed first in the National Beta Convention’s Division I Woodworking contest with a custom-built wooden pickup truck, her school announced Wednesday. This year’s National Beta Convention, themed “Wired for Success,” was June 17-18 at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Luther earned first place in the Tennessee Beta Convention, also in Nashville, in November 2025 and went on to capture another first-place win at the national competition this June.

“Your attention to detail, creativity, and exceptional craftsmanship have made Clarksburg School proud,” her school shared online.

Also representing Clarksburg School at the National Beta Convention were Anna Akins and Jamie Allen. Akins competed with an illustration and Allen competed with a crochet project.

“All three students did a great job and earned their way to represent Clarksburg at the National Convention,” said Clarksburg Beta Sponsor April Laws.
