County Approves Budget Amendments

HUNTINGDON (February 13) — The Carroll County Commission met Monday, February 13 approving several resolutions to amend the General Fund Budget. The legislative body also heard from members of the Carroll County Inclusion Park.

The two resolutions for the amends were for grants received for Carroll County Prevention Coalition in the amount of $26,000 and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $107,706 for an “Evidence-Based Programming Project” through the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs.

Other amendments were for the Highway Fund Budget for Capital Outlay Note Series 2022 in the amount of $268,000 for two gravel trucks and for grants coordinator position in the amount of $18,897 for the remainder of the fiscal year of 2022-23.

An announcement was made about the volunteer firefighter being awarded $75,000. The money will be used primarily for the purchase of air packs.

The Commission heard a presentation from Lori Dillahunty and Krystal Tippitt concerning the Carroll County Inclusion Park to be located in Huntingdon.

Two appointments were made during the meeting: Braden Maddox to the Carroll County Library Board and Steve Parker to the Carroll-Henry County Railroad Authority.

The following were elected notaries: Angela C. Birmingham, Ronnie Breeden, Addie Lou Chase, Jason D. McCord, Brandy Leean Petty and Britany S. Smith.

The next regular meeting of the Commission is March 13 at 7 p.m. at the Carroll County Complex.
