HUNTINGDON (May 15) — On Monday, May 15, during the monthly regular meeting of the Carroll County Commission, the once-tabled Resolution 4-05-2023 to establish Juneteenth as a legal paid holiday for Carroll County was approved with a split vote. Following the State of Tennessee’s establishment of the holiday, Commissioner Barry Mac Murphy made the motion with board approval to untable the resolution. Commissioners Larry Spencer and Darrel Ridgely voted against untangling the resolution.
