The following indictments were issued during the May session of the Grand Jury of the Carroll County session of the Circuit Court of the 24th Judicial District. No address is listed for the defendants.
Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault — Christopher Chase Thorne was indicted by the Grand Jury for Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Domestic Assault. According to the affidavit, on or about December 3, 2023, Thorne struck his victim in the face multiple times while she was confined, causing serious bodily injury. Officer Jeff Winberry filed the charges.
Cruelty to Animals — Lorona Kotani Willis was indicted for cruelty to a companion canine on or about December 24, 2023. Officer Mark Boaz filed the charges.
Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault — James Earl Bell was indicted on charges of Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault, and Vandalism. On or about April 1, 2024, Bell put a family member in fear by use or displaying a baseball bat, and also causing that family member bodily injury.
Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, Criminal Impersonation — Richard Bernard Bomar was indicted for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. On December 24, 2023, Bomar is charged with serious physical injury to a companion animal. He is also charged with intentionally attempting to defraud Officer Mark Boaz by providing a false identity.
Aggravated Criminal Trespass plus six other charges — Raymond Dale Boyd was indicted on seven charges. Officer Kyle Beauchamp charged Boyd with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault, Aggravated Criminal Trespass, Vandalism, Coercion of a Witness, and Violation of an Order of Protection.
Officer Kyle Beauchamp filed the charges. On or about March 24, 2024, Boyd had in his possession a rifle and had been convicted for prior felony offenses. The report indicates he assaulted a man with a 4-foot piece of wood causing bodily harm, entered the victim’s property causing the victim to fear for his safety. The report indicates Boyd damaged a door and siding of a residence. Count Six of the indictment indicates Boyd attempt to coerce a witness to withhold truthful information in the incident.
Count Seven indicates Boyd violated an order of protection by entering the victim’s property. Count Eight indicates Boyd phoned the victim several times which violated the order of protection.
Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Six Other Counts — Jonathan Layne Martin faces seven counts including Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Meth, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest. Officer Dennis Adkins reported that on or about January 21, 2024, he charged Martin.
Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony — Destin Luis Fuller faces those four counts after being charged by Officer Dennis Adkins on or about January 27, 2024. Fuller is charged with having a Glock 30 pistol while having possession of drugs.
Harassment — Matthew Wayne Norden faces the charge of Harassment. Officer Steven Scott filed the charge that states on or about January 2 Norden did harass a female by means of communication.
Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, three other counts — Kentrel Ne’air Siner, is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Officer Joey Hedge filed the charges for an incident that occurred on or about February 26. Johnson had a Glock 23 40-caliber handgun in the commission of an aggravated assault. He reportedly fired the handgun in a reckless manner placing others in danger.
Evading Arrest — Joseph Trent McGregor is charged with Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest. Officer Chance Townes filed the charges. The indictment indicates McGregor, on or about January 8, resisting arrest and resisting stopping his vehicle.
Evading Arrest, Aggravated Assault on an Officer — Zachary Ruben Perales is charged with Evading Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Theft of Property, and Aggravated Assault on an Officer.
Corporal Steven Scott attempted to stop Perales’ vehicle on or about June 17, 2023. Perales refused to stop and eluded officers. He had in his possession a .40 caliber pistol and had prior convictions in Dickson County for possession of a weapon. Perales is charged with stealing a horse trailer. He is charged with assaulting Deputy Ryan Hamilton after driving his vehicle into the patrol car and placing Deputy Hamilton in danger. He also struck HPD Officer Just Roberts’ patrol car. He also struck Benton County Deputy Chris Richard’s and K9 Kayla’s patrol car. He also struck the vehicle of Corporal Steven Scott.
Tampering With Evidence, Driving While Suspended — Elizabeth Dawn Johnson was indicted on charges of Tampering With Evidence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended. Officer Steven Scott filed the charges for the incident that occurred on or about September 19, 2023. The indictment indicate John had Schedule IV drugs and attempted to swallow those to dispose of the evidence. There was also Possession of Schedule VI drugs in the indictment along with drug paraphernalia.
Possession of Meth — Cherie Dawn Campbell faces four counts of Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Officer Joey Hedge filed the charges. The report indicates the defendant had possession of fentanyl and meth on or about February 2.
Window Tint Violation, Possession of a Controlled Substance — Titus James Gordon is charged with Window Tint Violation and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. Officer Cody Coleman filed the charges for an incident that occurred on or about April 1.
Possession of Meth — Bryan Lee King was indicted on a charge of Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver. On or about January 12, King reported had 26 grams or more of a substance identified as Meth.
Unlawful Controlled Substance, Possession of Meth, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia — Thomas Milton Anthony, Jr. was indicted on the above listed charges. Officers Dakota Meier and Chance Townes arrested Anthony for possession of oxycodone, meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia on or about February 7.
