Bethel, Eastside FCE May Meeting

Posted

The Bethel/Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) group met May 11 in Mary and Pennye Mays’ home. Ten members attended.

Hostess Mary Mays gave a devotion, titled “I Know This Much About You.” President Gail Eubanks read the club collect, and members answered the roll call question, “What is number one on your spring cleaning list?”

The treasury report was given and accepted, and the minutes were read and approve. In old business, the group agreed Eubanks would take the shelf milk to Beating Hearts since it came in after the Tennessee Food Awareness Drive was over. CVU is due by June 1.

In new business, the club discussed if they wanted to learn some of the crafts on the cultural arts category list with no entries. The club is increasing dues for state and region to $10 instead of $5. Dues are to be turned in by September to be a member and be able to send crafts to cultural arts at regional and state levels. The club also discussed if they wanted to participate in Heritage Day.

Mary Mays delivered an educational program on home security. She informed members of ways to prevent home invasions and robberies.

The recipe club meets June 1, and the dish is to be dairy.

Gail Eubanks will host FCE’s June meeting at the lake. Members are asked to bring a sack supper.
