Posted
ANDERSON, SC — Former Bass Cat and Bethel graduate Tristan McCormick captured the St. Croix Rods Bassmaster Southern Open at Lake Hartwell this weekend.  McCormick had a three-day total of 45 pounds. As a result of his victory, McCormick will be going back to the Bassmaster Classic.

Coach Garry Mason said, “We had four former Wildcats fish in this great event. We are really proud for Tristan. John Garrett also placed sixth in the tournament which propelled him to the top ten among anglers in the Angler of the Year race.” Mason added, “It is amazing the number of pro anglers we are turning out from our program at Bethel. Sometimes it feels like a dream that we have created such a program as we have. I want to thank everyone for the great support we have experienced. It is truly a team effort by all.”
