McKenzie Garden Club December Meeting

The McKenzie Garden Club held their December meeting at the lovely home of Mrs. Glynda Rich. Eighteen members answered the roll call. Sarah Brown presented the devotional with the poem, ‘God’s Christmas Tree’. The members enjoyed a delicious add-a-dish luncheon and wonderful fellowship. Afterward, the minutes of the November meeting were read and approved, as was the financial report. Sunshine committee chair Donna Hodge reported on the cards sent to members and reminded everyone that even though the club will not meet in January or February, she will still be available to send cards until March.
In Old Business, the Civic and Conservation committee was not contacted by the Bethel maintenance department, so no new plants will be added to the Alumni Garden until next year. In New Business, the members selected their new slate of officers for the upcoming term. After much discussion and encouragement, the new slate of officers and committee chairs are president, Debbie Simon; vice president, Mona Batchelor; treasurer, Donna Ward; secretary, Victoria Ard; Sunshine Committee chair, Marcia French; Phone Committee, Janie Moore and Brenda Smith. Members voted on the recipients of their Christmas collection for this year. The meeting and the year closed with the reading of the Collect. The McKenzie Garden Club wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
