Mr. Georgie “Ray” Meggs, 90, of Huntingdon, died Friday, May 3, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services are Monday, May 6, 2024, at 12  noon, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Furr and Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Burial to follow in Davis Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Jeremy Robbins, Jacob Robbins, Riley Robbins, Tim Meggs, Josh Taylor, Brody Taylor, Cody Taylor, Kevin Meggs, and Barry Glisson.

Mr. Meggs was born July 2, 1933, in Wildersville to the late Lonnie and Ola Patterson Meggs. He was a farmer and was in the Army National Guard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Meggs and Wayne Meggs, and a grandson, Jeramie Redmond.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Annie Evelyn “Polly” Meggs, a daughter, Teresa Robbins (Kenneth) of Camden, a son David Taylor (Teresa) of Medina, two sisters, Debbie Bunn (Darrell) of McKenzie, Sara Glisson, of Huntingdon, a sister-in-law, Deborah Meggs, of Huntingdon, and two brothers, Randy Meggs (Jenean) and Bobby Meggs (Ruby) both of Huntingdon. He also leaves six grandchildren, Josh Taylor (Erin), Cody Taylor, Brittany Barner, April Gately (Ricky), Jack Redmond (Nicole), Jeremy Robbins (Carrie), 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
