MARTIN (June 2) — The University of Tennessee at Martin hosted its annual Greek Awards ceremony June 2, and several Carroll County students received awards.

Samantha Roney, of Huntingdon, a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, was one of 19 students who received an Emerging Leader Award at the ceremony. Emerging Leaders are freshman and sophomore students who go above and beyond to take a leadership role on campus and have shown outstanding participation in chapter and campus activities while maintaining a high grade point average.

Several Carroll County students received the University Service Award during the annual ceremony. Honorees included Ashlyn Drewry, Alpha Delta Pi, of McKenzie; Riley Walker, Alpha Delta Pi, of Hollow Rock; and Amber Wright, Alpha Delta Pi, of McKenzie. The University Service Award recognizes students who have been an important part of life on campus and in the Greek community, whether through their chapter, the Greek councils, or through campus events and organizations.
