Habitat for Humanity to Host Gala

Posted
Habitat for Humanity in Carroll County is hosting a fund-raising gala for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity. The non-profit organization builds homes for low-income families through a partnership of providing a low-cost new house.

Habitat calls it a hand up not a hand out. The partner family is responsible for paying the mortgage and to provide sweat equity to Habitat to help for their own house and other partner family homes.

The gala is Thursday, November 10, 6 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and 6:30 p.m. dinner at the Carroll County Civic Center in Huntingdon.

Lauren Dickson, Miss Tennessee, will provide the evening’s entertainment. Dickson graduated from high school in Parsons and UT Martin with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. She previously was Miss Dixie Performing Arts Center in 2018 when she represented The Dixie.

Tickets are $50 each (tax deductible gift).

For questions on how you can participate or purchase tickets for the Gala, please call (731) 986-5900.

Your financial contribution enables Habitat homeowners to learn the responsibilities and skills necessary for home ownership. It also gives them a safe, decent, affordable place to live, as well as, a sense of pride and accomplishment.

The next house is scheduled to be built in McKenzie.
