Mr. John Wesley Murphy, 38, of Lavinia, Tennessee died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Graveside services were  Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Obion Chapel Cemetery with Mr. Billy Townsend officiating.

Pallbearers who served were Michael Murphy, Paul Mueller, Dan Mueller, Kevin Ramsey, Greg Camper, Matt Jackson, Josh Smith, Dustin Williams, Daniel Chrismon, and Bradley Palmer. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Cash, Larry Wyatt, Jeremy Clenney, Adam Welch, Cody Townsend, and Billy Townsend.

Mr. Murphy was born December 8, 1983 in Jackson, Tennessee. He was an operator for D & M Chipboard and loved dirt track racing and being a volunteer firefighter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Otis and Hazel Murphy and maternal grandfather, Jerry Phillips.

He is survived by his parents, Bennie and Debra Murphy of Cedar Grove, maternal grandmother, Betty Phillips of Milan, a sister, Tracey Murphy of Lavinia, and a brother, Michael Murphy of Cedar Grove.  He also leaves two nieces, Kelsey Murphy, Brooklyn Hays, and two nephews, Peyton Hays, Eli Hays, and a host of friends.
