Judge: Intern Harassment Expenses Exempt from Public Records Law

A Nashville judge ruled Tuesday that the expenses related to harassment of a 19-year-old legislative intern by then-state lawmaker Scotty Campbell are exempt from the public records law based on a House rule and a policy on workplace harassment. Journalists have found that at least $8,800 was spent to house and move the intern, but it’s unclear if additional payments were made.
