Lady Wildcats to Meet Georgetown in MSC Softball Tournament Final Site

BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (May 1, 2021) - The 2021 Mid-South Conference Opening Round wrapped up on Saturday with Georgetown (Ky.) and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) punching their tickets to the MSC Softball Tournament final site.

No. 6 seed Georgetown advanced with a 4-3 victory in eight innings while ninth-seeded Martin Methodist defeated No. 4 seed Cumberland 8-7.

The MSC Softball Tournament begins on Thursday, May 6 at Sparks Park in Columbia, Ky. Bethel (Tenn.) and Georgetown get things started on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT with the winner moving on to face top-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) at 4 p.m. CT. Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) matchup at 1:30 p.m. CT with the winner facing No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Two consolation matches will take place on Friday at Hord Softball Field in Campbellsville, Ky at 11 a.m. ET and 1:30 p.m. ET. The winner’s bracket final takes place at 4 p.m. CT Friday with the consolation semifinal taking place at 6:30 p.m. CT. On Saturday, the consolation final takes place at 2:30 p.m. CT with the championship game beginning at 5 p.m. CT. The if-necessary game will take place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. CT

Bethel and Georgetown did not play during the regular season.  The Lady Wildcats are 26-14 and have won four of their last five. The Lady Tigers are 23-18 and have won five of their last seven.  After the reseeding of the teams, Bethel is the four seed while GC is the five seed.
