    McKENZIE — McKenzie Senior Citizens Center has ramped up its activities for persons, aged 55 and up. The center, located at 172 Main Street, South, began the month of October with a dance with music by Larry Morgan, and will end the month with a Halloween potluck lunch on October 27.

    McKenzie’s golf season ended at the Region 7 Tournament at Dyersburg on Monday, September 26. Three Lady Rebels and two Rebels competed in the tournament. They included Charli Weatherford, Payton Ognibene, and Anna Weatherford along with Nolan Renfro and Caleb Burke.

  • Electric Department Sets Rate for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

    HUNTINGDON (September 29) — Carroll County Electric Department now has an established monthly rate for electricity used at commercial electric vehicle charging stations. The rate is approximately 25 cents per kilowatt-hour, including the base rate and any demand surcharges for the fast-charging stations.

    Multiple Charges — McKenzie Officer Trenton Ruddy initiated a traffic stop on Cedar Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, October 2. According to Ruddy’s report, he had previously run the same vehicle’s tag earlier observing the window tint allegedly to be darker than legal limit. Ruddy also had dispatch check on the registered owner’s driver’s license status. It was learned that the registered owner was Demereo Harwell of Somerville, Tenn. and his license was revoked for a DUI conviction.
