McKenzie City Council November Meeting

The McKenzie City Council met Thursday, November 10, at 6 p.m. with the approval of last month’s meeting minutes and no financial matters to be discussed. There being no Old Business, New Business was a first reading for Ordinance 550 to amend the text of the zoning ordinance of McKenzie by amending Chapter 9, provisions governing Industrial Districts, Section 11-902, M-2 (Heavy Industrial) Districts, Number (1) uses permitted, letter (a) be amended to include language for general merchandise. The ordinance failed to receive a motion, died and will be returned to the Planning Committee. Department head reports were heard and there were no council reports. Mayor Jill Holland expressed her appreciation to the council and department heads for their dedication and excellent work over the past 12 years. She reminded everyone going forward to ensure decisions are always made in the best interest of the citizens of McKenzie. Council members Charles Pruneau, Josefina Batton, Garrett Burns and Bobby Young expressed their thanks to Mayor Holland for her leadership and commitment to the city. There being no further business, the council meeting was adjourned.
