Wanted Person —  Officer Sean Beck went to a Connie Allen Road residence on Tuesday night, November 8 looking for Austin Bradley Cantrell, 27, of McKenzie, who was wanted by police. Cantrell was located and peacefully turned himself in to Officer Beck.
 
Warrant Arrest — On Tuesday night, November 8, Officer Sean Beck made a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Ram on Forrest Avenue for a light law violation. Beck ran the driver and passenger through dispatch and learned the passenger, Paige Welch, 23, of McKenzie was wanted on a Failure To Appear warrant by New Johnsonville Police. Welch was taken to Carroll County Jail to be picked up by New Johnsonville Police.
 
Criminal Trespass — McKenzie City Employee Joey Fitzgerald notified McKenzie Police of an incident at the Dog Park on Como Road on Tuesday morning, November 8. According to a report by Officer Jeremiah Brooks, Fitzgerald informed him that when he went to unlock the gate to the water treatment area, he noticed a razor blade that had been placed in a way to cut someone’s finger or hand.
 
DUI – First Offense —  Shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning, November 9, Officer Sean Beck initiated a traffic stop on a black vehicle on University Drive. Beck made contact with the vehicle and smelled what he believed was marijuana and asked the occupants to get out of the vehicle for a probable cause search. The search revealed 2.2 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana found in a mason jar. The driver, a juvenile, admitted to smoking marijuana upon questioning and performed standard field sobriety tests. The juvenile was arrested for DUI – First Offense and was given a verbal warning for the light law violation.
 
 Warrant Arrest — Officer Darren Davis went to a Walnut Circle residence attempting to locate Lacey N. Cozart, 30, of Atwood due to two warrants for her arrest. Cozart was located, arrested, and transported to Carroll County Jail without any further incident.
 
Domestic Assault — According to a report filed by Sgt. Trey Boucher, a McKenzie man contacted police about a possible domestic incident. He advised Boucher that he had returned home from Nashville after having surgery and noticed his handgun was missing. He confronted his roommate, Susan Coplin, about the missing gun and proceeded to search around her purse for it. The victim stated that Coplin shoved him and was in fear for his safety. Coplin was arrested for Domestic Assault and transported to Carroll County Jail. The gun was recovered at the residence along with a missing magazine from the gun.
