No Passing Zone — Willie Laroy Hines, 22, Milwaukee, was charged with Violation of a No Passing Zone and Violation of Financial Responsibility after a traffic stop on November 25.
Officer Jeremiah Brooks had three vehicles stopped for Violation of No Passing Zone. The officer was filling out citations for the drivers when he asked Officer Raspberry to assist. One driver, Willie Hines could not produce his registration papers. The officer reportedly smelled marijuana and checked the vehicle to find just a blunt. A pistol was also located in the vehicle and a digital scale.
Resisting Arrest — Jannie Diana Leone, 57, Kay Avenue, McKenzie was charged with Resisting Arrest and Failure to Appear on November 20.
Officer Austin Jones and Chief Ryan White observed Leone at a storage facility and checked to see if there were warrants for her arrest. Chief White had left the area, when Officer Jones determined an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear. The suspect entered Little General and would not yield to the officer’s demand. She went into the restroom and when she exited, Officer Jones arrested her as she resisted. Her car was impounded.
Domestic Assault — Brittany Hinrichs, 33, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on November 25.
Officer Austin Jones filed the report indicating Hinrichs had assaulted a family member by shoving the person in the chest as the victim sat in a recliner and then stopped the victim from making a call to another family member. Hinrichs was arrested.
Outstanding Warrant — John Devon Kerr, 25, Jackson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on November 23.
Officer Darren Davis witnessed two males outside a business after business hours and questioned them. They said they were using the business’s wi-fi. A computer check revealed Kerr had an outstanding warrant in Weakley County for shoplifting.
Burglary/Vandalism — A McKenzie woman reported her garage had been entered at a home she owns on Jackson Street.
Officer Jeremiah Brooks filed the report on November 24 in which the overhead garage door had been opened, which exposed some of her antiques to the cold, damaging an antique refrigerator.
