DUI — Jordan Deshaun Barnhart, 21, Hinkledale Road, McKenzie, was charged with DUI-First Offense and Speeding on May 10.
Sergeant Cody Coleman stopped the truck Barnhart was driving for speeding. The report indicates Barnhart indicated some impairment and was asked to perform field sobriety tests. He did submit to a blood-alcohol test. He was transported to Carroll County Jail and placed under a $5,000 bond.
Domestic Assault, Elder Abuse — Emily Jeane Hood, Cheryl Street, McKenzie, 49, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault and Elder Abuse after she denied an elderly relative the ability to call 911. The relative was also threatened.
Domestic Assault — Terrence Roosevelt Roy, 54, Park Cove, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on May 11.
Officer Darren Davis was at a local convenience store, where a female approached Officer Davis at the fuel pumps and told the officer her boyfriend had assaulted her. The victim did display red marks on the right side of her face. She reported that she and her boyfriend had argued while in the car.
Mr. Roy reportedly told the officer the argument did occur and she threw a small pie at him and slapped him. He responded by slapping her. The officer indicated there were no visual signs of assault on Mr. Roy.
Driving on Suspended License — Mallory M. Cobb, 36, Jones Street, Dresden, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Seatbelt Violation-sixth offense, and Violation of Financial Responsibility on May 8.
Officer Jeremiah Brooks stopped an SUV because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. A check of her driver’s license revealed a suspended status for failure to appear in court for a previous violation. She was cited into General Sessions Court.
Simple Possession of Marijuana — Erica Jonesa Armstrong, 29, Everett Street, McKenzie, was charged with Simple Possession on May 10.
According to Officer Kyle Beauchamp, he was alerted by a student resource officer at McKenzie Elementary School of the smell of marijuana coming from a parked car in the afternoon student pickup line around 1:20 p.m.
Officer Beauchamp responded and spoke with Ms. Armstrong about any use of illegal drugs. The officer indicated he could smell marijuana. Armstrong reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana before leaving her home. She handed over several marijuana joints and a small pile of loose marijuana and a marijuana grinder.
She was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
