Aggravated Child Abuse — Brianna A. Howard, 32, Randle Street, McKenzie was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Aggravated Assault on July 28.

Officer Kyle Beauchamp filed a report indicating several juveniles were playing ball and kicked it passed Ms. Howard. Who grabbed the ball, threw it over the house and grabbed a juvenile by the neck in a choking fashion. The juveniles’ stories closely matched detailing the incident. She was transported to Weakley County Jail.

DUI — Robert Wayne Brown, 33, Milan was charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest on August 3.

Sergeant Cody Coleman witnessed Brown’s vehicle on Clark Street and noticed it did not maintain its lane of travel. Coleman said Brown’s vehicle disregard the red signal light at the intersection of U.S. 79 and State Route 124. Sergeant Coleman initiated his emergency lights, however, Brown’s vehicle sped away, crossed State Route 22 and drove into a corn field, exited it halfway down Dr. Smith Lane. Brown attempted to flee on foot, however, Coleman cautioned him that he was the canine officer. Brown stopped, laid down prone on the ground.

The report indicates Brown smelled of alcohol and he had slurred speech.

A check of Brown’s license revealed a suspended license. The car was impounded and Brown was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Possession of Schedule II with Intent — Michael Lee Fowler, 61, Bell Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Possession of Schedule II with Intent, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on August 2.

Officer Sean Beck stopped Fowler’s car for erratic driving and noticed a vape pen in the vehicle, which led to questioning about other substances. A search of the vehicle revealed illicit drugs and cash in the amount of $3,269 in cash.

He was also cited for Display of Registration violation.

Evading and Resisting Arrest — Andrew Joshua Lucero, 20, Park Street, McKenzie, was charged with Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct on August 2.

Officer Kyle Beauchamp responded to a vicious dog complaint on Park Street. Lucero approached the residence and began screaming at the officer, who immediately called for additional officers. Beauchamp asked Lucero to calm down without success. When officers attempted to arrest him, Lucero fled on foot to the city’s park, and attempted to climb some bleachers when he fell.

He then wrapped his arms and legs around the bleachers causing MPD to tase him to facilitate an arrest.

Theft of Vehicle — Patrick T. Noah, 31, West Street, Gleason, was charged with Theft of a vehicle o August 3.

Officer Justin Brister took a report from a female victim who said she was driving Noah when an argument ensued. She parked and exited the vehicle. When she returned to where she parked, the vehicle was gone. MPD notified other departments and the victim later stated Noah texted her and she learned the vehicle was parked at the house of a relative of Noah in Gleason. The vehicle was secured, however, no one would come to the door of the residence. Officers set up a perimeter and Noah surrendered to authorities.

Driving on a Suspended License — Rusty L. Sheperd, 37, Big Buck Road, Trezevant was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on August 4.

Officer Shy’Ann Williams stopped Sheperd’s vehicle for a Light Law violation and discovered the driver’s license status. He was booked into Carroll County Jail.

Criminal Trespass — Gary Allen Hocker, 43, Walnut Circle, McKenzie was charged with Criminal Trespass on August 7.

Officer Shy’Ann Williams responded to a residence on Walnut Circle where Hocker had been lying on the front porch of a female. At an earlier date, Hocker had been advised to get his belongings and leave. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Driving on Suspended License, Drug Paraphernalia — Jacob A. Hinson, 23, Spruce Street, McKenzie was charged with Driving on a Suspended License and Failure to Maintain Lane on August 4. A passenger, David Randall Riedle, 28, Main Street, Ripley, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sergeant Cody Coleman and canine Officer Toby were involved in the charges. Coleman stopped Hinson’s vehicle for Failure to Maintain Lane. Canine Toby alerted on the vehicle in which a glass pipe was located in the sock of Riedle, the passenger. Hinson was charged with Driving on a Revoked License due to a DUI conviction. Both were cited into Carroll County Jail.
