Gingerbread

1 egg

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 cup sour milk

1/4 cup shortening

2 cup plain flour

3/4 teaspoon soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

2 teaspoon baking powder

Gingerbread
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup sour milk
1/4 cup shortening
2 cup plain flour
3/4 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoon baking powder
Sift flour, then measure it. Add the leavening and spices. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg. Add the sugar, molasses and sour milk and mix well. Melt the shortening. Add to the egg mixture. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Use a 13x9x2 inch pan, greased and floured.

Strawberry Cheesecake
1 pie crust shell

1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
9 oz. softened cream cheese
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
8 oz. whipped cream thawed
Preheat oven and baking sheet to 400 degrees. Partially bake pie crust for 6 minutes. Cool slightly. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and almond extract until blended. Pour into partially baked crust and bake on preheated baking sheet for 30 minutes or until filling is firm. Cool completely. In a bowl, fold fruit into whipped topping. Spread mixture on cooled cheesecake. Chill. Makes 6 servings.

Sweet Potato Pie
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs, beaten
2 cup mashed sweet potatoes
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and mix. Add potatoes and mix. Add milk, vanilla extract and salt. Mix well. Pour into pie shell and bake 40 minutes in a pre-heated 375 degree oven.
