Carroll County Relay for Life Event to Return

Posted

Carroll County’s annual Relay for Life event returns Saturday, Sept. 9, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, held at the Carroll County Civic Center, helps the American Cancer Society (ACS) fundraise and raise public awareness of benefits for cancer patients.

The Relay for Life event is from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the organization providing lunch and supper.

Event coordinators Michelle Tucker and Jennifer Horton say they hope to have an inflatable obstacle course, a jumpy house, face painting, nail painting, games, a basketball shoot and a possible basketball tournament.

Tucker and Horton encourage families and businesses to form teams to help raise money for ACS. Anyone wanting to form a team, be on a committee or volunteer to help is welcome.

The Relay for Life event-planning meeting is Thursday, May 25, at 6 p.m. in Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County’s Community Room.
