HUNTINGDON (May 12) — The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 12, for the Rural Health Association of Tennessee’s first-ever rural resource center, located at 159 Court Square in Huntingdon.
Supported by a three-year, $2,000,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Health, the Huntingdon center provides essential resources — including a food pantry, a maternal health program and a rural community opioid response program — for Rural Health Association members.
The Rural Health Association of Tennessee is a nonprofit membership organization that supports hospitals, schools, healthcare clinics and mental and behavioral health providers across the state. The Huntingdon resource center will serve Rural Health Association of Tennessee members in Carroll, Henry, Benton, Gibson, Weakley and Decatur counties.
Interior construction is still underway at the Rural Health Association of Tennessee’s Huntingdon resource center. The center will open in the coming weeks.
