Burglary — Deputies are looking into the recent burglary of a mobile home near Huntingdon.

Deputy Michael Taylor reported on Oct. 12 sometime during the previous night, someone entered a mobile home on Terry Road, broke out a window and the front door window glass, and took several items being used for renovation by the owner, including a box of glass backsplash tiles and a box of laminate flooring. The structure has been unoccupied for about five years.

Injuries Under Investigation — The Sheriff’s Department is assisting McKenzie Police Department in an investigation regarding two individuals sustaining hand injuries in McKenzie.

According to the report by Ryan Hamilton, he responded on Oct. 9 to a request for assistance from the MPD regarding a possible gunshot victim. A male victim was located behind Medlin’s Shoe Store in McKenzie and was found to have a bleeding wound on his left hand. Responding EMTs determined that it was not a gunshot wound. A female victim was also found to have a wound on her left hand. Both victims were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County. A male suspect believed to be responsible for these wounds was questioned by officers but no charges had yet been filed at the time of the report.

Public Intoxication — Thomas Howard Bruce, 59, of 2995 New Bethel Road, Cedar Grove, was charged with public intoxication on Oct. 12 at his residence.

Deputy Nick Roberts reported he responded a call about an intoxicated and disorderly person, and upon arrival, Bruce was brought outside by a family member, who said that Bruce was being loud and disruptive. Roberts noted that Bruce smelled of an alcoholic beverage. While the deputy was speaking with the family member, Bruce started to scream profanities. Bruce was then taken into custody and transported to Carroll County Jail.
