WILDERSVILLE — Mr. Tony “Red” Ray Hart, 69, of Wildersville, Tennessee, died Friday, May 19, 2023, at Henderson County Community Hospital.


Funeral services were Saturday, May 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Antwanne Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.


Mr. Hart was born August 20, 1953, in Wildersville, Tennessee, to the late Lawton Hart and Robena (Rivers) Hart. He confessed in Christ at an early age and became a member at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Yuma, Tennessee. As a youth, he attended Hale School in Huntingdon and later Montgomery School in Lexington. When he became older, he worked construction for a while. One of his hobbies was his passion for knife collecting. His favorite was Case Knives. He also loved to have fun and talk with friends. His phrase was, “I am just shooting the breeze,” while in conversation with his sister-mom, Surrenda.

Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Lula Mae Melton, four brothers, Timothy Lynn Hart, John Thomas Hart, Lawrence Ray Hart, and Earnest Ray Melton.


He is survived in death by his sister-mom Surrenda Ross, two sisters, Peggy Hart and Lee Helen Weathers, two brothers, James Parker and Jessie Hart, all of Parkers Crossroads, and an aunt, Norma Mebane of Huntingdon. He also leaves nine nieces, thirteen nephews and a host of family and friends.
