McKENZIE, Tenn.  - Virginia Christine Robinson Argo, 100, died peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Harmony Hill Assisted Living in Huntingdon. A memorial service is at the Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 8, at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until service time.

Officiating will be Licentiate Gwen Warren. Since choosing to be part of a scientific study through Genesis of Memphis, a graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery., McKenzie.

Christine was born on November 12, 1923, on the family farm in Cedar Grove, Tenn. She attended Trezevant and Atwood schools and upon graduation, attended Bethel College. In 1945, she married the love of her life, David Argo, and remained so for 52 years until his death.

During her long and fulfilling lifetime, Christine taught at Hilltop School, worked at the Milan Arsenal during World War II and for the majority of her life, was a dental technician for Dr. Norvelle Headden and Dr. James Padgett until her retirement at age 70

Christine was an active member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and volunteered at Bethel University, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the VFW and American Legion.

She enjoyed family, friends, gospel and big band music, reading her Bible and novels, solving puzzles, cooking, basketball, exercising and traveling

She was preceded in death by her husband, loving Aunt Vada and Uncle Cecil Robinson, parents, a sister, Nelly Brinkley, nephew, Dwain Argo, nieces, Barbara Jean Travis Brawner, Dorothy Travis Sanford and Jane Hill Fortner

She is survived by nieces, Joyce Hill Al-Kishaly, Joan Argo Brown, Brenda Argo Lewis, Nancye Jo Travis Moore, nephews, Bobby Argo, Charles Argo, Lew Brinkley, her caregivers, great-niece and nephew, MaryAnn Edwards Baker and Steve Baker, along with many other great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews
