ATWOOD — Dexter Williams, director of schools at West Carroll Special School District, is ending his contract on May 5. William Robinson, school board chairman, said the board and Williams reached an agreement to terminate Williams’ contract prior the June 30 date originally planned. Williams submitted his letter of resignation on March 9.

Williams to Leave West Carroll May 5

ATWOOD — Dexter Williams, director of schools at West Carroll Special School District, is ending his contract on May 5. William Robinson, school board chairman, said the board and Williams reached an agreement to terminate Williams’ contract prior the June 30 date originally planned. Williams submitted his letter of resignation on March 9.
Williams, who served as director 2017-2021 and principal at West Carroll Junior High and High School in 2015-2017, has accepted the position of athletic director and high school men’s basketball coach at Trinity, a private Christian school in Jackson.
Preston Caldwell was hired April 6 to be the next director of schools at West Carroll.
Caldwell is the principal at Lake County High School, where he has served for five years. He was a teacher of chemistry at his alma mater, Milan High School for 18 years. He is a 1988 graduate of Milan, a graduate of UT-Martin, University of Memphis (master’s degree), and Bethel University, where he earned his administrator certificate. He resides in Milan. He recently resided his position at Lake County to assume the director’s position at West Carroll.
