In this December 20 issue of The McKenzie Banner is the annual Christmas Greetings section, including Letters to Santa from McKenzie, Huntingdon, West Carroll and Gleason schools, area daycares, and other individuals who emailed their children’s letters in to The Banner.
The tradition of including Santa letters dates back to the early 1960s. And yes, The Banner still has every special Christmas section back to the 1940s - the early years did not include the Santa letters, just greetings from area businesses.
This year, the Banner staff typed approximately 1,000 letters to Santa.
