NASHVILLE (August 19) — The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security (TDOSHS) is issuing new Driver Licenses and ID cards with a fresh design and improved security features along with new self-service kiosks, which can reduce wait times at Driver Service Centers. more
HUNTINGDON (August 19) — Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler officially swore in Morris Rogers on as a Commissioner for Carroll County. Rogers was elected to represent District 4 in the August election. In filling a vacancy through election, Rogers will begin serving immediately. more
TREZEVANT (August 13) — Tuesday’s meeting of the Trezevant Board of Aldermen was heavy on discussion but light on action (for now) as two issues dominated the two-hour meeting: the fallout from last month’s drug testing of street department employees and the excessive number of cats roaming town. more
CARROLL COUNTY (August 15) — Candidates have qualified for local municipal elections in the November 5 general elections. Four municipalities — McKenzie, Huntingdon, Bruceton and Hollow Rock have contested elections. more
McKenzie Police Officer Dustin McClure said the juvenile, with a female passenger, attempted to evade police and drove at excessive rates of speed to avoid arrest. more
HUNTINGDON (August 12) — During the August meeting of the Carroll County Commission, Stephen Liss, the soon-to-be proprietor of Club Rosser, spoke to the legislative body about adding liquor by the drink as a referendum to the November ballot. Currently, McKenzie and Huntingdon allow liquor by the drink within the municipal city limits but it is illegal elsewhere in the county. more

Juvenile Flees Police — A juvenile male was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail after he was driving 94 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone on August 15. more
Violation of Order of Protection — According to a report made by Deputy Sean Bongiovanni on August 13, deputies were dispatched to a home on Jessie Lane in reference to an order of protection being violated. more
Domestic Assault — According to a report made on August 3, 2024, by Officer Malachi Arline, officers responded to the Huntingdon Police Department in reference to a domestic assault Upon arrival, officers talked to the victim, April Hester, who stated that she was assaulted by the father of her children, Reginald Gordon, 45, of Huntingdon. According to Hester’s statement, her and Reginald were in a vehicle traveling down Lexington Street when there was a verbal altercation and Gordon hit the victim on the right side of her face with his fist. Ms. Hester had visible signs on her face of being hit. At approximately 10:30 p.m., Sgt Parham and officer Arline placed Reginald Gordon under arrest for domestic assault. more
