Davis Chapel United Methodist Church Revival Services
Revival services are at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church, Sunday, November 13 through Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Service on Sunday, November 13, begins at 6 p.m. with singing by Witness of McKenzie followed by message. Services for the remainder of the week begin at 7 p.m. Jackie Fincher of Archer’s Chapel in Frog Jump, Tennessee, will be the speaker. Everyone is invited to attend. Davis Chapel is located at 8070 Highway 22, south of Huntingdon.
 
County Library November Events
The Carroll County Library, 625 High Street, Suite 102, Huntingdon, announced events for November. TOT Times are scheduled Tuesdays, November 16, 23, 30 at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool Hangout is scheduled Monday, November 21, 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Special programming provided by the Farm Bureau to celebrate Ag Literacy Week is November 13-19 and includes a wooden cow to milk, making butter, a junk food versus ‘superfood’ bingo, an educational crop program and a farmer themed TOT time. Anime Club is Thursday, November 17, 4-5:30 p.m. Coffee with Character Book Club on Saturday, November 19 at 10 a.m. Tinker Tuesday STEM/STEAM activities is November 22 at 3:30 p.m. Monday Makers Youth Crafts is November 28 at 3:30 p.m. The library will be closed Thanksgiving, November 24-26. Board Meeting Date Change Carroll County Electric Dept.
The new date for the Carroll County Electric Board meeting is Thursday, November 17, at 2:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Electric Department, 103 West Paris Street, Huntingdon.
 
Humane Society Fruit Fundraiser Continues
The Carroll County Humane Society Fruit Fundraiser continues. Orders and payment are due before November 17 and fruit arrives the first half of December. The shelter is located at 21822 TN-22, McKenzie, and is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for ordering. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, credit card or through PayPal cchstn@gmail.com (add $2 to your total when using PayPal). Fruit selections include Navel Oranges (1/5 Bushel $25, 2/5 Bushel $30); Ruby Red Grapefruit (1/5 Bushel $25, 2/5 Bushel $30); Hamlin Juice Oranges (2/5 Bushel $30); Mixed Navel and Grapefruit (2/5 Bushel $32); Mandarins/Tangerines (1/5 Bushel $30, 2/5 Bushel $40); Red Trio: Navels, Grapefruit and Red Delicious Apples ($30); Citrus Trio: Navel, Grapefruit, and Mandarin/Tangerine ($30) or Pear Trio: Navel, Red Delicious Apples, and Anjou Pears ($30). Henry County Sheriff’s Office Accepting Deer Donations
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will begin accepting deer for the ‘Deputies for the Hungry’ program on November 19 through December 30, 2022. Deer may be dropped off daily at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, 210 Forrest Heights Road, Paris, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Hunters must have the deer checked in prior to arrival and have the confirmation number ready for deer shed personnel. All deer must be field dressed prior to drop off. Due to limited storage capacity and Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing procedures, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office may have to suspend the program and will notify the public should that occur. For each deer donated, hunters receive a ticket for a drawing to win a Precision Shooting Equipment (PSE) crossbow. The drawing will be held at Hulmes Sporting Goods, 3735 US-641, Paris, at a date to be announced. The offices are closed on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 
 
First CP Church Bazaar, Turkey, Dressing Sale
The First Cumberland Presbyterian Church is hosting its Annual Bazaar and Turkey and Dressing sale on Saturday, November 19, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Turkey and dressing casseroles are $20 for a 9x13 pan and must be ordered by Monday, November 14, by calling the church office 731-352-2440. Casseroles will be ready to cook or freeze. Pick up time is 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the kitchen located at the back of the church on Saturday, November 19. The bazaar will feature many hand-crafted holiday items for sale, baked goods and a raffle. Parking is available in the back of the church.
 
Carroll County Toys For Tots
Donate an unwrapped toy or monetary donation to the Carroll County Toys for Tots campaign. Toy donations will be collected at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center. Monetary donations may be dropped off or mailed to Jamie Summers at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 200 Norandal Drive, Huntingdon, or visit toysfortots.org. Please make checks payable to Carroll County Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots applications for children ages 0-12 years old can be picked up at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center at 210 Norandal Dr., Huntingdon. Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
On the third Tuesdays of each month, The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street, Huntingdon. Meals are served restaurant style with drive-through available after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited.
It is our mission to create a community atmosphere where individuals can come in and have a meal and a comfortable setting. We encourage friendly conversation, prayers and laughter. McKenzie VFW Annual Breakfast Fundraiser
The McKenzie Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Auxiliary Post 4939 is hosting its Annual Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, November 19, 2022, 9750 Cherrywood Road, McKenzie. Breakfast begins at 5 a.m. and the cost per adult is $10 and children $6 with proceeds to benefit needy children at Christmas. For more information, contact the VFW at 731-207-1027.
 
Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.
 
Adult Education Classes
Huntingdon Location - Adult Education Building, 14155 Paris Street. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Classes are offered for one-on-one instruction on Mondays, 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, phone 731-364-5481.
 
Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
Prayer on the Square
The Prayer on the Square is held the second Saturday each month, 9 a.m. at The Network on the Court Square in Huntingdon. All denominations are welcome.
