The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.

Mckenzie Chamber To Host Grand Opening, Coffee
McKENZIE — McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting three events through the end of March.
On March 14, a coffee (meet and greet) for Lewis, Aird and Associates IS at The RailYard Workspace, Broadway Street, McKenzie, 8-9 a.m. The event is free of charge.
On March 18, a grand opening/ribbon cutting is Dem Cookiez is 11 a.m., 38 Broadway, next to Prater’s Taters.
Sidewalk reconstruction is underway along Broadway Street. For the coffee, attendees will have to enter through the back door.
On March 23, Easter Egg Drop is at McKenzie City Park, 9 a.m. to noon. 50,000 plastic eggs will be dropped from a helicopter at 9 a.m. Children and family members are encouraged to come to this free event.

Relay For Life Bake Auction
The annual Carroll County Relay for Life Bake Auction is March 25-29. It is broadcast each year on WHDM radio. More details will be available later. For more information, call Sherrye Washburn, 731-415-3282.

McKenzie Senior Center Cook-off
McKenzie Senior Center Cook-off is Saturday, March 16 at 5 p.m.
Members will enter their favorite appetizers and desserts to be voted on by the judges. The top three entries in each category will receive medals! Come taste all the entries and see if you agree with the judges!
The judges will be: Mayor Griffin, Monica Heath, Bridget Nutting, Denise Sam and Kevin Clark. Come have fun, eat good food and cheer for the winners! See you there.

Miss UTM Rodeo Pageant
The University of Tennessee at Martin Rodeo Booster Club will sponsor the Miss UTM Rodeo Pageant Saturday, March 16, at Watkins Auditorium, located inside the UTM Boling University Center in Martin. The pageant is open to all girls, ages 0-20.

Contestants will be judged in formal/evening gown only.
Doors open at 12 p.m. with pageants as follows: 0-12 months at 1 p.m., 1-3 years at 1:30 p.m., 4-6 years at 2 p.m., 7-9 years at 2:30 p.m., 10-12 years at 3 p.m., 13-15 years at 3:30 p.m., and 16-20 years at 4 p.m. Registration is at the door only, $40 for beauty only with side categories available for additional cost.
Winner of the 16-20 division required to participate in UTM Rodeo Week activities and is eligible to compete in Territorial Queens Review/Strawberry Festival. Junior, Teen and Miss Division Queens will be recognized at UTM Rodeo Performances April 11, 12, and 13. For more information, contact Beth Weldon at (731) 225-1227.

Carroll County Democratic Party Meets
The Carroll County Democratic Party meets the third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at 12740 Lexington Street, Huntingdon.

Spaghetti Fundraiser for United Neighbors
McKenzie Senior Center is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti fundraiser for United Neighbors on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and the dinner menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, tea, coffee, or water, side salad and dessert. Tickets are available from any member of McKenzie Senior Center or at the center from 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. McKenzie Senior Center is located at 172 Main Street South in McKenzie, Tenn. All net proceeds will be donated to United Neighbors.

Adult Education Classes

West Carroll Band Benefit
West Carroll Band is hosting a songwriter showcase, dinner, concert and silent auction. The event is Saturday, April 13 at the Carroll County Civic Center. The songwriters include Brice Long, Marla Cannon, and Dylan Altman.

NWTN EDC to Meet
The Board of Directors of Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council meets Friday, March 15, 2024, 10 a.m. at the McKenzie Central Office, 938 C Walnut Ave. West, McKenzie in the Conference Room. This meeting will also be provided virtually via Zoom.

Mckenzie Industrial Board to Meet
McKenzie Industrial Development Board meets Thursday, March 21, 6 p.m. at The RailYard Co-Working Space on Broadway Street in downtown McKenzie.

Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in February and July.
