McKENZIE, Tenn.  - Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Taylor Bledsoe are Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2024, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday, noon until service time.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband of 33 years, L.C. Bledsoe, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
 
Mrs. Bledsoe, 100 years old, died Monday, August 5, 2024 at her residence in McKenzie. She was born in Brownsville on February 20, 1924 to Wiley and Maggie Wills Taylor. She was a member of Johnson Temple CME Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a school teacher for over 50 years. She began her career in teaching in Haywood Co, only later to teach at Webb School
and McKenzie Elementary School.
 
She is survived by her daughters, Melba Tucker of Owensboro, Kentucky and Jennifer Bledsoe of McKenzie, a brother, Joe Taylor of Brownsville, one grandson, Taurus Bledsoe, two great-grandchildren, Joshua Bledsoe and Charrish Bledsoe and a great-great-granddaughter, Amara Rose Bledsoe.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Lee Esther Howard, Elizabeth Wiley, Bessie Prather and Wilette Perry and brothers, Pack Taylor, Mack Taylor, Earl Taylor, Raymond Taylor, James Taylor, O.C. Taylor and Finis Taylor.
