The McKenzie High School Alumni Decades Reunion, presented by the McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA), is set for October 4-5, 2024.
Events include a golf scramble, the MHS homecoming parade and a tailgate party at Rebel Stadium prior to the MHS football game against Perry County.
The golf scramble is at Carroll Lake Golf Club at 8 a.m. on Friday, October 4, with more details to be released soon. All MHS alumni are encouraged to come enjoy the MHS homecoming parade in downtown McKenzie at 12:30 p.m.
At 4 p.m., the Decades Reunion Tailgate Party will take place at Rebel Stadium. Admission for the tailgate and game is $7 (cash or GoFan). Areas will be designated for alumni by decades as well as for faculty and staff.
All MHS alumni, former and present faculty and staff members of the McKenzie Special School District are invited.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair, break out your favorite McKenzie Rebel gear and enjoy reconnecting with classmates and faculty/staff from your days at MHS.
Alumni of McKenzie High will also have the opportunity to join the MHSAA at the tailgate event. Alumni of MHS can join the MHSAA for $10 annually, or as a lifetime member for $100. Additional monetary donations are also accepted for the benefit of the organization.
The MHSAA made financial contributions to assistance programs at McKenzie Elementary,
Middle and High schools and funded the MHSAA Scholarship during its first year. More ways to give back to McKenzie schools are being considered by the leadership team.
Food and beverages will be served at the tailgate event.

Volunteers are needed to make this event a success. The next planning meeting is Monday, August 12 at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market meeting space.
If you are unable to volunteer, please consider contacting fellow alumni and encouraging them to come to the reunion.
The MHSAA has a t-shirt fundraiser from August 4-31 via the MHSAA Facebook page. There will be a new design, with shirts arriving in time for the decades reunion.

1969
The Class of 1969 55-year reunion is at the McKenzie High School cafeteria (23292 Hwy 22) on Saturday, October 5, at 11 a.m. with a meal catered by Hometown Hangout and a tour of the school.
The class is trying to locate all of its members, so please share this information with any Class of ‘69 members you may know.
Cost of the luncheon per person is $15 ($30 with a plus one), and checks made payable to “MHS Class of 1969” may be mailed to Terry Howell (205 Como Street, McKenzie, TN 38201). Please RSVP with payment by August 9 so that an accurate number can be provided to the caterer.

1974
The Class of 1974 50-year class reunion is Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m. with a charcuterie-style lunch catered by Kaitlyn Henderson at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie.
Cost is $20 per person. Local classmates can make a deposit to a STAR Account, Gale Edwards-Class of 1974 at Centennial Bank, and a Zelle account is also being established for out-of-town classmates to pay electronically.
Classmates may RSVP to Gale Chandler Edwards to let her know the number of guests and how payment has been made. Deadline for payment is Friday, September 23. Updates will also be available via Facebook.

1979
A 45-year reunion for the Class of 1979 is Saturday, October 5 from 1-3 p.m. at The Barn at McKenzie City Park (570 Como Street).
Refreshments will be available, and other activities are being considered.
For updates, follow the MHS Class of 1979 Facebook page. Lynda Galey Hickman, Gina Hale Gore, and Mary Ann Bush Garner are doing the initial planning and invite suggestions for additional activities.
1984
The Class of 1984 40-year reunion is at the MHS cafeteria (23292 Hwy 22) on Saturday, October 5 at 4 p.m. with a meal catered by classmate Chris Chadwick of Hawg County Cookers and a tour of the school.
The 1984 class is trying to locate all of its members, so committee members ask classmates to share this information and the Facebook Event (MHS Class of 84 Reunion - 40th) with any Class of 1984 members you may know.
Cost of the dinner per person is $20 ($35 with a plus one). Class members should Venmo their amount to @melindaleake and indicate “reunion” or mail a check made payable to Melinda Leake, 2117 Homestead Lane, Franklin, TN 37064.
An online Google Form is available to RSVP and classmates are asked to Venmo or mail the printed Google Doc with payment by Monday, September 16 so that an accurate number can be provided for food. Payment may also be made the night of the event, but all are encouraged to pre-pay if possible.

2014
The Class of 2014 ten-year reunion is the weekend of October 4-5. On Friday, October 4, the class will tailgate before the Rebel football game. A section of bleachers will also be reserved for the class at the game. This will be family-friendly, so children of class members are also welcome.
On Saturday, October 5, the class reunion is in the evening at New Valley Event Venue, 189 New Valley Rd #6914, Gleason, TN 38229. Dinner will be catered by Hometown Hangout. This event is only for 2014 MHS graduates and a plus-one. Ticket prices and times will be announced closer to time via Facebook as plans are finalized.
