HERMITAGE (October 2) — Following an investigation concerning an on-the-field altercation during the Huntingdon-Milan football on Friday, September 22, the TSSAA placed both teams on probation until the end of the 2024-2025 school year. The schools were fined $500 annually, amounting to $1,000 each over the two-year period. Though schools are on probation they are still allowed to participate in post-season play. more
JACKSON (October 6) — Friday night, Huntingdon traveled to Jackson Northside to battle Jackson Central-Merry (JCM) in a regional matchup. This was the first contest on the field between the two schools. The Mustangs dominated JCM with a final score of 41-6, the only Cougar points of the night coming after a fumble recovery late in the fourth quarter with a running clock. Each first-half possession for the Cougars resulted in a punt, turnover on downs, or fumble. The Mustangs took advantage of each opportunity and scored 34 unanswered points in the first half with five successful scoring drives. more
Huntingdon welcomed the Riverside Panthers to Paul Ward Stadium Friday night in a region match-up pitting the Mustangs against the team ranked number one in the state for the Class 2-A poll. more
HUNTINGDON (September 28) — Huntingdon’s Middle School Mustangs welcomed Jackson Northeast at Paul Ward Stadium Thursday night for the their last season match-up. With a 22-8 victory over the Jaguars, Huntingdon finished their season undefeated at 7-0, with a total 232 points scored and only 26 allowed. more
MILAN (September 22) — Friday night marked the return to region play for the Huntingdon Mustangs (3-1) as they traveled to Milan to face the undefeated Bulldogs (5-0). Prior to the match-up, the Bulldogs were ranked number 1 in the state for the Class 2-A poll. Throughout four quarters of play the Mustangs dominated both defensively and offensively to win the game 32-14. Although tension between the local rivals erupted into a scrappy melee three minutes into the second quarter, coaches and officials quickly restored order, and the game continued without further incident. The travel win gave Huntingdon a 4-1 record for the season, 2-0 for region play. more
HUNTINGDON (September 15) — Friday night marked the first meeting between the Huntingdon Mustangs (Class 2-A) and the Crockett County Cavaliers (Class 4-A). The Cavaliers arrived at Paul Ward Stadium with an undefeated season record that quickly appeared in danger as the Mustangs took control defensively and limited Crockett County’s scoring efforts to only one touchdown for the night. Offensively, the Mustangs found the end zone five times and Greyson Anderson posted a perfect five for five on extra point attempts. The home field win against the non-region opponent gave Huntingdon a 3-1 record for the season. more
HUNTINGDON (September 14) — The McKenzie Middle School Rebels traveled to Paul Ward Stadium Thursday night for a county matchup with the Huntingdon Middle School Mustangs. With a 20-0 shutout of the Rebels, Huntingdon remains undefeated at 5-0 for the season. more
HUNTINGDON (September 5) — The Trenton Rosenwald Bears traveled to Paul Ward Stadium Tuesday night for a matchup with the Huntingdon Middle School Mustangs. more
COLUMBIA (September 8) — On Friday, the Huntingdon Mustangs traveled to Columbia to take on the Columbia Academy Bulldogs in a non-region matchup. This was the first meeting between the two schools. Although both teams moved the ball well in the first quarter, turnovers and a lack of offensive yardage for the Bulldogs in the remaining three quarters proved problematic and led to a 48-14 Mustang victory. The road win gave Huntingdon a 2-1 record for the season. more

HUNTINGDON (September 1) — On Friday night, the Huntingdon Mustangs welcomed the Cardinals from Adamsville for their Homecoming match-up. Prior to this meeting, Huntingdon was a perfect 9-0 against the Cardinals and continued their winning streak before a stadium-packed home crowd. After a loss to the McKenzie Rebels in their season opener, the Mustangs had a bye week August 25th which allowed them additional time to regroup and prepare for their first region match-up against an undefeated, 2-0 Adamsville team. more
McKENZIE (August 18) — For the fourth consecutive season, the McKenzie Rebels have defeated their cross-county rivals, the Huntingdon Mustangs. The 28-12, week one, home opening, win put the Rebels on the correct path to defending their 2022 state championship. more
HUNTINGDON (August 11) — Friday night, the Huntingdon Mustangs welcomed the Lexington Tigers for the annual Quarterback Club Jamboree at Paul Ward Stadium. The preseason match-up showcased both junior varsity and varsity Mustangs with each team competing through two quarters of play. The spectators who took the opportunity to preview Huntingdon High School football were not disappointed as both Mustang squads dominated the visiting Tigers. more
McKENZIE (August 5) — On Saturday, football teams from sixteen different middle schools clashed at Randy Thomas Field for the annual McKenzie Jamboree. Three Carroll County teams competed, including McKenzie, Huntingdon, and West Carroll Middle Schools. Each team played two twenty-minute quarters on one half of the football field, allowing double match-ups to occur simultaneously. more
MURFREESBORO — Colton King, a 2023 graduate of Huntingdon High School, placed second in the 1,600-meter run in the Class 1A, 2A State Track and Field Championship in Murfreesboro. He had a combined time of 4:25.457 for three races. The winning runner was Will Douglas of Camden Central, with a combined time of 4:25.40 for three races. more
The Huntingdon Middle School recognized its student-athletes at the annual banquet on Tuesday for the spring sports of girls’ soccer, boys’ soccer, baseball, and girls’ volleyball. The athletes for each sport all received a certificate of participation. more
HUNTINGDON (April 22) — Huntingdon’s Fillies and Mustangs celebrated the 2022-23 basketball season during the end-of-season banquet on Saturday, April 22 at the Huntingdon Church of Christ. more
HUNTINGDON (February 28) — The 2022-23 Huntingdon Middle School Boys’ Basketball Team was honored by the Town of Huntingdon Mayor and Council during the February 28 meeting. Mayor Nina Smothers read a proclamation that proclaimed February 28 as Huntingdon Middle School Boys’ Basketball Team Day in Huntingdon. more
HUNTINGDON (February 8) — Colton King, a senior at Huntingdon High School is committed to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and compete in Cross Country and Track and work toward a career in Physical Therapy. more
HUNTINGDON (February 7) — Martin Westview Lady Chargers edged the Huntingdon Fillies in a district battle that lived up to a promise of a championship-style game between two of the top Class 2A teams in the state. more
