On May 6, 2023, the Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame added eight new members to the HOF at the annual banquet at the Carroll County Civic Center. The inductees were from the five areas of the county. McKenzie inducted Jerry Escue and Derek Carr. Huntingdon inducted Bill Ezell, Ray Crossno, and Danny Woodard. HUNTINGDON — After the success of last year’s school art exhibition, Huntingdon High School will once again have a new art exhibit at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center from May 4 through Aug. 1, 2023. This juried art exhibit will be judged and awards given at the opening reception honoring all the participants on Thursday, May 4 from 6-8 p.m. in the Ballroom Gallery. Parks and Recreation Director Billy Hollowell stated the City’s pickleball court is moving closer to completion. The surface has been poured along with the necessary striping. HUNTINGDON (April 10) — During Monday’s April meeting of the Carroll County Commission, the legislative body was addressed by Lori Dillahunty representing the Carroll County Inclusion Park. Dillahunty spoke passionately about the need and the advantages of constructing the park. Through Resolution 4-06-2023, the county pledged $400,000 of American Rescue Plan Act Funds. The estimated cost of construction is between $725,000 and $750,000. more
