Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have risen 3.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.12/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 13.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 89.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 5.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.19 per gallon. more

The Bethel/Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) March meeting was held in the home of Mary and Pennye Mays with ten members present. The vice president, Pennye Mays, opened the meeting with a devotion written by Barbara Cage entitled ‘May Hope Always Be Your Comfort and Guide.’ The club pledge was recited and cards were passed to be signed for Janice Chandler and Lacy Yelley. The minutes were read and accepted and the treasury report was given and approved. more
HUNTINGDON — Children with limited mobilities are often excluded from participating when it comes to play time. A new local non-profit wants to help solve that problem with a new inclusive park designed for those children. more
HUNTINGDON — Twelve students - freshmen from the schools in Carroll County participated in four Saturday morning sessions with emphasis on STEM - Science, technology, engineering and mathematics, from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning on January 21 and concluding on March 4. more

In 1999, the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce began sponsoring the Youth Leadership Carroll County (YLCC) program. Since that time, more than 570 students have graduated from YLCC. The classes are comprised of class members from each Carroll County high school. The program is made up of four sessions, two in the fall and two in the winter. more
