As a service to our community we see a need and try to help. The Bethel/Eastside FCE decided as one of their projects to donate hats to the Pre-k and Head start programs. This year the club donated to the Clarksburg, West Carroll and Huntingdon Pre-K and Head Start.

    DRESDEN — Dresden is still recovering for a devastating EF-3 tornado that heavily damaged the downtown and surrounding areas. More than 100 structures were destroyed, however, no casualties or serious injuries resulted from the December 10 storm.

    Carroll County Sheriff’s Department K9 Gotchi received a bullet-and-stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Gotchi’s vest was sponsored by Vikki and Arnie Medrano of Paso Robles, California and embroidered with the sentiment “In honor of those who protect and serve”.

    McKenzie junior running back Marquez Taylor was a finalist for the 2021 Mr. Football award. Taylor is the fifth Rebel to earn a Mr. Football nomination. The predecessors include Ricky Mathis (2002), Drew Hayes (won the award in 2005), Derek Carr (2007), and Colin Vinson (2010).

    West Carroll played host to Scotts Hill last Tuesday, December 14 for only their fourth game of the year. The Lady Eagles and War Eagles haven’t played as many games so far due to games getting postponed. They had games against Humboldt postponed due to the recent shooting at Humboldt High School and a game against Trenton last Friday postponed due to bad weather entering the area. No makeup dates have been set at this time.
