    HUNTINGDON (February 24) — Carroll County Election Commission’s voting machines were implemented in the county in 2005 and the manufacturer no longer manufactures new parts of the eslate machines. Hart InterCivic representatives said the county’s machines are ‘long in the tooth’ and are serviceable with available parts salvaged from other machines. The State of Tennessee is pushing for the use of paper ballots in every county in Tennessee to assure more verifiable trail for vote integrity.

  • Electric Department Signs Letter of Intent With Solar Company

    HUNTINGDON (February 24) — A letter of intent was approved to enter into a contract with a division of Silicon Ranch to construct a 6.25-megawatt solar array (farm) in Trezevant. The Board of Directors of the Carroll County Electric Department provided the letter as one of the early steps in the development of the solar farm.

  • Huntingdon Industrial Development Board Receives $175,000 Grant

    The Delta Regional Authority announced the Huntingdon Industrial Development Board will receive a grant of $175,000 to construct two stormwater basins to accommodate additional roadwork and parking at the new Hydro-Gear factory at the Huntingdon Industrial Park South. Hydro-Gear is investing an additional capital investment of $7 million.
