ATWOOD (August 8) — The West Carroll school board met on Thursday August 8 and approved the fiscal year 2024-’25 budget. The $11.6 million budget includes $1.5 million in improvements to the Primary and Elementary schools as well as new asphalt paving for all three schools in the district, some of which is already completed.

McKENZIE (July 25) —With the school year starting today, paving crews finished paving projects at McKenzie Middle School and McKenzie High School just one day ahead of students arriving. New culverts and sidewalks were also installed at MMS. One new sidewalk was installed at MHS.

McKENZIE (July 24) - Hometown Health Clinic hosted a Back-to-School Blitz Wednesday at the pediatric office on Hospital Drive. The event, with the theme "Homer's Fun Day on the Farm," aimed to remind parents to schedule well visits for their school-age children as well as provide a fun day of activities as the summer break winds down.

More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education. The SkillsUSA Championships is the largest skill competition in the world and covers 1.79 million square feet, equivalent to 31 football fields or 41 acres.
